After trading their final seventh-round pick to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday because they had exhausted their entire draft board, the team quickly moved into the next stage of the draft's final day by picking up several undrafted free agents.

Miami has already finished signing between 8-10 players, including one potentially intriguing prospect in Purdue defensive end Ryan Baker.

Baker drew interest from several teams Sunday evening as one of the more coveted remaining prospects, but he chose Miami. At 6-4, 295 pounds, the big body has a legitimate shot to compete for a roster spot - or the practice squad at the very least.

The signing of undrafted players is treated as a critical way of building prospects. Miami benefited last year by picking up former Hawaii receiver Davone Bess, who turned into a key player in the team's passing game during his rookie season.

By trading its seventh-round pick to the Chiefs, Miami picked up Kansas City's seventh-round pick in next year's draft.
