Chatard graduate on soccer trophy watch list
From IndyStar
University of Florida junior All-American Lauren Hyde, a Bishop Chatard High School graduate from Carmel, is among 47 players included in the Women's 2008 Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy Watch List, which was recently released by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Hyde earned a spot on the 2007 NSCAA All-America third team as sophomore. She was named to the all-Southeastern Conference first team for the second consecutive season in 2007. Hyde led the Gators in minutes played as both a freshman and sophomore, averaging more than 91 minutes per match in 2006 and 2007. Hyde's five assists tied for second among the 2007 Gators. Considered the highest individual honor in intercollegiate soccer, the recipients of the MAC's Hermann Trophy are selected by Division I head coaches who are current NSCAA members. In November, the list will be narrowed to 15 semifinalists. Three finalists will be named in early December. They will be invited to the Missouri Athletic Club for a news conference on Jan. 9, where the winner will be announced. Copyright 2008 IndyStar.com. All rights reserved
