Navy's Reed Named League Goalkeeper of the Week for Third Time This Season

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The accolades continue to roll in for Navy's senior team captain Beth Reed (Indianapolis, Ind.) A day after setting a new senior class record for solo shutouts, Reed was named the Patriot League BRINE Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time this season, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Reed played an instrumental role in two key road league wins for Navy this past weekend. The athletic 5-foot-7 netminder opened the week with a seven-save effort in the Midshipmen's 2-1 win at Lehigh. She then went the distance, stopping eight shots and recording her ninth solo shutout in a 4-0 victory of Lafayette on Sunday afternoon...

Entering the week, Reed leads all conference goalkeepers in goals-against average (0.60), save percentage (.887) and solo shutouts (10). She has started all 18 matches this season, turning away 86 of the 97 shots on goals she has faced. Her 88.7 save percentage is the ninth-best mark nationally, while her 0.60 GAA ranks 23rd overall...
