Bishop Chatard graduate Scheidler keeps Notre Dame among women's soccer elite
Julie Scheidler is listed as a defender on the Notre Dame women's soccer roster, but even coach Randy Waldrum says that's not quite accurate.
"With the way we play and the formation we play, we have those outside backs attack all the time," Waldrum said. "I would be hesitant to call her a defender because she attacks so much from the back line."
The former Bishop Chatard standout seems well-suited for it. Waldrum noted Scheidler leads the seventh-ranked Irish in ball possession time in their first six games. She had one goal and four assists last season as a junior.
