Boys Freshmen Basketball Notes
The freshmen boys basketball team advanced to the City Tourney semi-finals with an exciting 33-32 win over Cathedral. With 6 seconds to go, a 3-pointer put them ahead for the win. The Trojans pulled out a nailbiting one point victory on Dec 8 at Arlington, 31-30. Despite a very, very cold shooting night in the field and at the free throw line, the Trojans hung in with defense to steal the lead back. Down five points with a minute left, the Trojans played full court press, got three quick steals by Evans, Hepp and Wood. The Trojans never gave up attitude, and propelled themselves to a late victory! Next game Wednesday at home against Ben Davis, 6pm game time! The Trojans kicked off their hoop season with a 64-58 win over Lawrence Central. The up-tempo style propelled the Trojans to an early 15 point lead. However Lawrence Central put on a full court press and got back into the game. The Trojans never relinquished the lead and pulled out the victory. The team was lead by Elijah Evans 21 points. There were also strong performances by Nick Traub and Daniel Wagner. |
