City Golf: Chatard's Crafton medals as Chatard places third
The Cathedral High School girls golf team won the City Tournament on Friday at South Grove Country Club with a score of 165. The event was shortened to nine holes because of rain. Bishop Chatard freshman Paige Crafton shot a 1-over-par 36 to earn medalist honors as the Trojans finished third with a 175. Cardinal Ritter, led by Allyson Maled's 39, finished second with a 172. Cathedral's Alanna Berdanier shot a 38 and was runner-up to the medalist. The second-best score for the Irish was Sarah Renie with a 41. Molly Ward and Abby Lauck both shot 43s. "We had pretty good balance," Cathedral coach Joe Vollmer said. "They played well; the rain's the same for everybody." Copyright 2008 IndyStar.com. All rights reserved
