JV Girls vs Covenant Christian
The BCHS girls JV basketball team took a great victory last night on their home court to end the regular season on a strong note. The visiting Covenant Christian Spartans played a tough game, but the lady Trojans were able to continually stay in control of the game. (final score BC 43 CC 22). Team leaders for BC include Caroline Springer who put in 15 points and made 9 steals. Katelyn Barron and Tori Singleton each pulled down 9 rebounds, and Julianne Springer added 12 points. Congratulations to the Boys JV basketball team (14-0), as they defeated Cathedral 42-32 to become this year's JV City Champions. This is the 3rd year in a row they have accomplished this feat! JV Girls vs Cathedral, City Semis
The JV girls basketball team dropped a close game last night against Cathedral in the semifinals of the city tournament. (final score BC 23, C 33). Team leaders were Rachel Ward with 6 points and 3 steals, Katelyn Barron with 4 steals, and Annie Dietrick pulling down 8 rebounds. JV Girls vs Tech
The JV girls basketball team entered the city tournament last night to play on their home court against the visiting Arsenal Tech Titans. The Trojans were successful in moving on to the semifinal round of the city tournament by defeating the Titans (final score BC 47 AT 33). Team leaders for BC include Katelyn Barron with a game high 7 steals, Julianne Springer with a game high 14 points, Rachel Ward adding 10 points, and Caroline Springer chipping in 10 points. The JV Girls basketball team defeated the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles Jan. 4 on the Eagles home floor, 48-21. Team leaders for the Trojans include Caroline Springer with 14 points and 3 assists, Rachel Ward with 3 assists and 4 steals, and Arden Burch with 9 points and 7 rebounds. JV Girls vs Northwest
The J.V. Lady Trojan girl.s basketball team won an exciting over-time contest last night against the visiting Northwest Space Pioneers. The final score was BC 41 and NHS 35. Team leaders include Caroline Springer with 21 points, Annie Dietrick with 16 rebounds, and Rachel Ward with 7 steals. Girls vs University
The JV girls basketball team used a balanced scoring attack, some lock-down defense, and lots of vital contributions from everyone to win by more than 20 in rather easy fashion, 51-20. The varsity ladies also used full court pressure to pull away to a comfortable 13 point lead early. The Trailblazers were stubborn but the Trojans extended the lead to 43-20 at halftime. From mid way through the 2nd quarter, BCHS backed off full court pressure but kept University at arms length with all available 11 girls making big plays at both ends of the floor. Cathy Doyle led all scorers with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Katie Shaughnessy added 11 points and 9 assists. The varsity advanced their record to 4-0. Final score: 77-57 Girls Varsity vs Richmond
The Varsity girls played a smothering full court defense that generated 24 steals, most in the 1st half. Rachael Kimack lead the balanced scoring attack with 13 points while Katie Shaughnessy and Cathy Doyle both scored in double figures and contributed 7 steals each. Final Score: 64-29. The JV girl's basketball team defeated the Richmond Lady Red Devils last night. The Lady Trojans were led in scoring by Caroline Springer, who put in a game high 21 points, and Annie Dietrick who added 10. Defense was the name of the game for Bishop Chatard, as the team combined for 25 steals. Rachel Ward, Julianne Springer, and Annie Dietrick each made 5 steals, while Caroline Springer added 4. The JV team won 43-20, in the second game of a triple-header vs Anderson H.S. on Sat, behind Caroline Springers' 13 points, Annie Dietricks' 13 rebounds and Kately Barrons' 6 steals. The Varsity team used Cathy Doyles' 24 point and 8 rebound performance to propel the Trojans past the Indians. Katie Shaughnessy added 9 points, 8 assists, 6 steals and a masterful floor management job in the home opener. Casey Williamson chipped in 8 points in limited action while battling the flu. Team and game leaders include Annie Dietrick with 7 points and 13 rebounds, Katelyn Barron with 9 points and 6 steals, and Caroline Springer with 13 points and 5 assists! |
