The Mens Trojan Lacrosse team lost a hard fought game to sixth ranked Cathedral 6-13. The team finished 12th in the state, earning a State tournament bid for the second year in a row! Congratulations Trojans and good luck on Thursday at State!

For the second year in a row, Rachel Ward has made the Great Lakes lacrosse team and will be competing in a National Tournament in Baltimore, MD over Memorial Weekend. Girls from Indiana and Kentucky tried out for 20 positions, and 10 were chosen from Indiana. Rachel is a junior and member of the BCHS girls lacrosse team. She will be playing with girls from 55 teams from across the country.

Claire Schapker led the team with four goals while Mary Stonner, Grace Horrall, Emma Fillenwarth, Sarah Allen and Emily Wheelock also scored in the game against Concord. The Trojans scored three quick goals after Concord tied the game at 5 and BC never looked back. Final score: W 9-6.
Cassie Farmer and Grace Horrall both scored for the Trojans in a hard fought game against a tough Heritage Christian team. Final Score: BCHS 2, Heritage Christian: 11.

Led by phenomenal defense from Abby Feick and Leslie Cook, as well as the 13 saves by goalie Molly Wert, the Trojans dominated over North Central on April 22. Rachel Ward scored 4 goals and Emily Moran had two. Abby Feick, Meredith Rhodes, Grace Hutson, Hayley Krause, Emily Knotts, Kristin Caccavo and Klarisse Ledtke all netted one goal apiece. The JV team also won, 16-2.

The Varsity team lost this game, 8-14. Molly Wert had a personal record 20 saves in the contest; Emily Knotts had 4 goals.

Bishop Chatard girls lacrosse won 14 to 12 at Penn High School Saturday. The team was led by Emily Knotts with 6 goals and 1 assist, Rachel Ward with 2 goals and 1 assist, Hayley Krause, Abby Feick each with 1 goal and assist and Courtney Wheelock, Klarisse Ledtke, Grace Hutson, and Alexandray Wayer each with 1 goal. Maddie DiSalvo had 5 assists. Molly Wert had 7 saves. Strong settled defense led by Kathleen Funk and Leslie Cook effectively stopped settled shots.

Bishop Chatard girls won 14 to 7 against Center Grove Thursday night. Rachel Ward scored 7 goals for the Trojans, Emily Knotts and Hayley Krause each netted 2 goals, and Meredith Rhodes, Maddie DiSalvo and Alexandra Wayer each had 1 goal.Molly Wert had 9 saves in goal. Abby Feick and Leslie Cook were strong on ground ball control.

Bishop Chatard Girls Lacrosse won against Brebeuf Tuesday night 12-6 behind the midfield play of Meredith Rhodes, Abby Feick and Emily Knotts. Rachel Ward scored 5 goals, Emily Knotts, Emily Moran, and Courtney Wheelock each had two goals. Meredith Rhodes scored 1 goal. Molly Wert had 12 saves.

The boy's Trojan lacrosse team defeated Heritage Christian 9-8 on Apr 1. Senior midfielder Sam "The Magician" Scott led the Trojans scoring with a hat-trick. Sophomore Nic "Rocket Shot" Ruby burned two, and a quartet of Senior face-off specialist "Toph" Lucas, Senior Chris "Mad Dog" Mannion, Junior Nolan Miller, and Freshman Dustin Rhodes all joined in. Senior Defenseman Joe "Boom Boom" Pauszek stayed in the stats with an assist while shutting down the Eagles' offensive star. Great job Trojans!

Bishop Chatard girls lost to Carmel on March 31, 15-7 though the Chatard girls dominated possession of the ball for most of the game but shot 7 for 25. Rachel Ward scored 4 goals for the Trojans, Emily Knotts netted 2 goals, and Meredith Rhodes scored one off of a rebound from her own shot. Molly Wert had 11 saves in the game. Leslie Cook played a very strong defensive game leading the defense. The JV lost 7-6 to Carmel.

The Trojan Lacrosse team defeated south-side rival Roncalli 18-5 in the season opener. Nolan Miller lead the attack with 7 goals! Chris Lucas, Colin Kea, Sam Scott, Chris Mannion, Matt Bartlett, J.D. O'Brien, Clayton Larson, Nic Ruby, and Dustin Rhodes all scored! Senior defenseman Joe Pauszek had one assist and scored on a downfield power play!

Girls Lacrosse played Heritage Christian on March 11, winning 14-3. Emily Knotts and Rachel Ward each had 4 goals, Emily Moran and Meredith Rhodes each had 2 goals, and Klarisse Ledtke, Hayley Krause and Courtney Wheelock netted one apiece. Molly Wert had 4 saves with strong defense led by Leslie Cook and Kathleen Funk.
