Girls and Boys Track
Girls Track at the State Meet
The Bishop Chatard Girls Track and Field program capped off their outstanding season with stellar performances at the IHSAA State Meet. Congratulations to our Trojan All State Athletes:
Boys Hurdler excels in Sectional and Regional
Chris Blackburn placed second in Sectionals in the 300 hurdles and advanced to the Regional Track Meet. There, he placed 2nd and lowered his own school record! He advanced to the state meet.
Girls Track goes to state
The following Lady Trojans qualified for the 2010 State Track and Field Meet: the 4 x 800 relay of Paige Laconi, Maggie Bell, Christine Kirby and Mary Davis (Regional Champs); the 4 x 400 relay of Paige Laconi, Christine Kirby, Sophie Meier and Maggie Bell (3rd place); Christine Kirby (800 meters-4th place); and Sophie Meier (3rd-Long Jump). The 4 x 400 relay of Laconi, Meier, Bell and Kirby smashed the school record by over 3 seconds.
Girls Track sets a relay record in Sectionals; others also advance
The Lady Trojans placed 4th at the LC Sectional on May 18. The following relays and athletes advanced to regionals: the 4 x 800 relay of Paige Laconi, Maggie Bell, Christine Kirby and Mary Davis (Sectional Champs); the 4 x 400 relay of Paige Laconi, Christine Kirby, Sophie Meier and Maggie Bell (2nd place); Mary Davis (3200 meters- 2nd place); Christine Kirby (800 meters-3rd place); and Sophie Meier (4th-Long Jump). The 4 x 800 relay of Laconi, Bell, Kirby and Davis broke the sectional record and currently have the 2nd fastest time in the state this season. Boys Track in the City Tourney
The boys track team placed 5th in the City Tourney held May 12. Congratulations to Chris Blackburn who established a new meet and school record in the 300 meter hurdles. Also winning was the 4 x 400 relay of Joe Mark, Nick Siderys , Teddy Guzek and Chris Blackburn Girls Track are City Champions
The Lady Trojans won the City Track and Field Championship on May 12. The following athletes were city champions: Maggie Bell (100, 200 and 400 meters), Christine Kirby (800 meters) and Mary Davis (1600 and 3200 meters). The following relays were victorious 4 x 800 relay of Stephanie Barnes, Rachael Kimack, Christine Kirby and Arden Burch and the 4 x 400 relay of Paige Laconi, Christine Kirby, Stephanie Barnes and Sophie Meier. Maggie Bell and Paige Laconi both broke the school record in the 400 meters! Girls Track are 2010 All-Catholic Meet Champions
Girls track runners set meet records in the All Catholic meet on Apr 30 on the way to placing 1st overall in the meet. Maggie Bell set a meet record in the 100 meters and the 4 x 4 relay team of Paige Laconi, Rachael Kimack, Christine Kirby and Maggie Bell set the meet record for their event.
The following athletes were All Catholic Meet Champions: Maggie Bell (100 meters), Paige Laconi (200 meters), Maggie Bell (400 meters), Christine Kirby (800 meters) and Sophie Meier (Long Jump). The following relays were victorious 4 x 800 relay of Stephanie Barnes, Rachael Kimack, Christine Kirby and Arden Burch and the 4 x 400 relay of Paige Laconi, Rachael Kimack, Christine Kirby and Maggie Bell. Chris Blackburn, meet champion in the 110 meter hurdles, 300 hurdles and 200 meters, was recognized as the most outstanding male athlete of the meet; in addition, Nick Siderys was the meet champion in the 400 meters. The following relays were victorious: the 4 x 800 relay of Danny Scheidler, Joe Mark, Nick Boyce and Teddy Guzek and the 4 x 400 relay of Joe Mark, Nick Siderys, Teddy Guzek and Chris Blackburn. The girls track 4x400 relay team were meet champions in the Talon Relays on April 24, breaking a meet record in the process. The team consisted of Elaine Wessel, Sophie Meier, Sarah Mark and Paige Laconi. The 4x200 girls and the 4x400 boys relay also won their races. The girls team consisted of Bridget Tasker, Sophie Meier, Sarah Mark, Paige Laconi. Joe Mark, Nick Siderys, Teddy Guzek and Chris Blackburn were on the boys team. |
