Varsity Boys vs Covenant Christian

The Trojans improved their season as they defeated Covenant Christian 25-21, 25-14, 25-21 on April 27. Tough service from Eric Fohl and Zac Zavakos. The Trojans were able to split time with underclassmen to gain some varsity exposure.

JV Boys place 3rd in Cardinal Classic

JV boys volleyball scored a big win against Carmel thanks to 'James "clutch" Hastings' serving 6 consecutive points to win 25-24. They won over Carmel in 2 games. They lost to Southport in a close 3rd game score of 9-15 which advanced the team to the game for 3rd place against Franklin Community where it came down to the wire in the 3rd game tied 14-14. Mike Bradley served a near ace, but was helped by Elliot Fouse who put down the final point to win 3rd Place at the Southport Cardinal Classic over Apr 17th weekend.

Varsity Boys vs Plainfield

The boys volleyball team won vs Plainfield in 5 sets- 17-25, 25-27, 24-26, 25-29, 18-16 on Mar 17. This was the second win here at home and definitely won't be the last! Bishop Chatard's Boys Volleyball team is now ranked in the top 10 of the IBVCA weekly poll! Go Trojans!

Freshmen Girls win City Championship

Congratulations to Freshman Volleyball for winning the City Tournament this past weekend at Heritage Christian. In the first match, they beat Scecina in straight sets 25-16, 25-15. Set one in the championship match against Cathedral, they started off slow allowing Cathedral an 8-1 lead. Keeping focused, they worked their way back in to the set. With the score 15-21, libero Maggie McNelis went back to serve. Before she was finished serving, your Trojans were winning 24-21. They managed to close out the first set with a win 25-22. They started the second set with the same fire that ended the first set and never looked back, winning 25-21. Please take a moment to congratulate your freshman volleyball players with a fantastic season, ending with a record of 20-4 and a city championship.

Freshmen Girls vs Warren Central

Freshman volleyball finished out the regular season against Warren central with a win in straight sets 25-22, 25-16. Excellant play from middle hitter Claire Schapker and outside hitter Addie Ruxer. Wish the team luck as they play in the freshman city tournament Sat., Oct. 10.

JV vs Catheral, City Championship Game

Congratulations to the JV volleyball team, who defeated Cathedral last night in two games to become the 2009 City Champions! The Trojans won the first game 25-24 on a kill from Heather O'Brien. Then the Trojans started off game two with several aces from Lauren Taylor, followed by excellent defense from Maggie Bell. Kaitlyn Carriger was unstoppable on the outside, and middles Annalise Lowry and Lexi Seigler played aggressively in the front row. Setters Emily King and Annie Bates were great leaders on the floor. Way to go girls!!! Scores: 25-24, 25-14.

JV, Concordia Tourney

Champions
Congratulations to the JV Lady Trojan Volleyball team. They were the tournament champions in the Fort Wayne Concordia Tournament on Sept 26.

Freshmen vs Carmel

Freshman volleyball won Oct 1 against Carmel in straight sets 25-19, 25-23. Excellent defense by Gabby LaFrance, setting by Ellen schroeder, and hitting by Addie ruxer and Claire schapker. Great match ladies!!!

JV vs New Castle

Congratulations to the JV volleyball team, who defeated New Castle Tues. in three games, 25-19, 18-25, 15-9. The Trojans gave a great team effort, with aggressive play at the net by middles Lexi Siegler, Sarah Heckman, and Annalise Lowry, as well as tough defense from all backrow players.

Freshmen vs Franklin Central

Freshman Volleyball lost a close one Sept. 29 vs Franklin Central in three sets, 25-17, 22-25, 6-15. Overall excellent play by the entire team, converting the most .quick sets. of any freshman team in the last 4 years. For those of you not familiar, a .quick set. is a very difficult play usually reserved for JV and Varsity teams which requires perfect passing and timing from the passer to the setter to the hitter.

JV vs Cardinal Ritter

Congratulations to the JV volleyball team, who defeated Cardinal Ritter on Sept 24 in two games. The Trojans had excellent hitting from Kaitlyn Carriger on both the outside and right side, and Annie Bates had a great game in the setter's position.

Freshmen vs Cardinal Ritter

Freshman Volleyball won on Sept. 24 vs Ritter in straight sets 25-22, 25-19. Excellent serving from Sarah Mark down the stretch to seal the victory.

Freshmen vs Perry Meridian

Freshman volleyball won Sept. 22 against Perry Meridian in straight sets 25-10, 25-19. 14 serving aces by Addie Ruxer and solid right side hitting by gabby la France led the team. They play again tomorrow night against Ritter.

Freshmen vs Guerin Catholic

Freshman Volleyball won on Sept. 21 against Guerin in straight sets 25-19, 25-22. Excellent hitting from middle hitter Claire Schapker and congratulations to Ashley Confer for aggressive serving on the final two match points for the win.

JV wins the Lawrence North Tourney

Congratulations to the JV volleyball team, who won the Lawrence North Invitational this weekend! The Trojans defeated Decatur Central, Hamilton Southeastern, and Lawrence North to go undefeated for the tournament. Great job girls! The Trojans play at home again this Thursday against Cardinal Ritter. Scores: vs Decatur Central: 25-12, 25-9, vs HSE: 25-22, 25-18, vs Lawrence North: 25-16, 25-22.

Freshmen in the Archdiocesan Tourney

Freshman volleyball came up a bit short in the Archdiocesan tournament, finishing second to Roncalli. They started off against Scecina winning in three sets 25-19, 21-25, 15-13. The second match was against Ritter where the Lady Trojans won in straight sets 25-5, 25-14. The last match of the day was against Roncalli where they lost in two sets 24-25, 19-25. Freshman volleyball plays again Sept. 21 at Guerin High School at 5pm. Your next chance to check out your 12-3 freshman volleyball at home is Sept. 22 against Perry Meridian at 6pm in the Auxiliary Gym. Take a moment to check them out!!!

Freshmen vs Scecina

Freshman Volleyball won on Sept. 10 against Scecina in straight sets 25-15, 25-21. Excellent play from Captain Setter Ellen Schroeder and middle hitters Ellen Polak and Gabrielle Nondorf. Freshman volleyball has their next match home Monday against Roncalli at 5pm during pack the house night. Let's see how many people we can get into that auxiliary gym!!!

Freshmen vs Cathedral

Freshman volleyball won Sept. 8 vs Cathedral in three sets... 18-25, 25-21, 15-11. The third game was tied at 6-6 until Addie Ruxer took the game over with four straight kills. Excellent defense from Maggie McNelis and serving from Helen Flynn.

Freshmen vs Lutheran

Freshman volleyball won on Sept. 2 against Lutheran in straight sets 25-14, 25-12. Exceptional serving from Sarah Mark and great front row play from Captain Robyn Van Vliet. Freshman volleyball plays again this weekend at Heritage Christian at noon. Come check them out!!!

JV vs Fishers

The Trojan JV volleyball team lost on Aug 25 to Fishers in three hard-fought games. Great aggressive play from the entire team, with stand-out serving from sophomore Maggie Bell and freshman Annalise Lowry. Sophomores Caitlyn Van Senus and Kelly Williams played well for the team on the right side. The Trojans play again this Thursday at Center Grove. Scores: Game 1: lost 25-22, Game 2: won 25-16, Game 3: lost 15-13

Freshmen vs Fishers

Freshman Volleyball won again last night against Fishers in straight sets 25-11, 25-15 moving their record to 4-0. Excellent serving and passing from libero Maggie McNelis and setting by Barbara Dickmeyer. The freshmen play again tonight at Southport at 6pm. Find some time to check out freshman volleyball!!!

Freshmen vs New Palestine

Freshman Volleyball won their third game in a row on Aug 24, against New Palestine in straight sets 25-12, 25-20! Excellent front row play from Ellen Polak and Ashley Confer! Your freshmen face a tough opponent tonight home against Fishers starting at 5:00. Come on out and help cheer them on to another victory!!!
