Chatard girls may end Cathedral run in City golf

...Chatard is ranked 13th in the state and Cathedral is 14th. The Trojans have won all of their dual matches and also were first among 12 teams in the Aug. 10 Lawrence Central Tournament, with Chatard players Paige Crafton, Cathy Doyle and Maggie Dodson claiming the top three individual spots, respectively. "I think we have really great prospects," Chatard coach Beth Brogan said. "I think we've always been competitive with Cathedral. There are some other teams that could surprise us, but I think Chatard does have a good chance this year given our work ethic in practice and on the course. So far, the girls are in great shape. I think they're really confident and have positive feelings about doing well this year." Crafton is the Trojans' top player, having placed first in 11 of the first 12 matches, but Doyle has emerged as a talented first-year player in her senior year....
