Chatard adds passing to arsenal
Bishop Chatard High School's (football) success has been built on its bruising rushing attack. Never was that more true than last year's (almost literal) run to the team's record 10th state title, when 77.3 percent of the Trojans' offense came on the ground. However, the run-pass breakdown has been more even in this year's quest. Bishop Chatard (12-2), which will play South Bend St. Joseph's (12-2) in the Class 3A state final Saturday, has averaged 158 passing yards to complement 195.4 on the ground.
