Big-play Trojans overwhelm Rebels
Fagan's 76-yard TD catch, 2 long defensive TDs put it away early
Joe Fagan is better known around Bishop Chatard High School for his basketball abilities. But the football field turned out to be the ideal place to show off some of those basketball-like skills Friday night. The 6-3 Fagan leaped and tipped a pass away from a Roncalli defender, then grabbed the ball out of the air and ran 76 yards for a score to set the stage for a wild second quarter in the Class 3A No. 1 Trojans' 35-3 victory over the Rebels at Tech High School. "I was just trying to get to the ball,'' said Fagan, a junior playing football for Chatard for the first time this year. "It worked out a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I was lucky.'"
