Lindsay Wilson, the goalkeeper for the Lawrence North girls soccer team, scored two goals Tuesday night to help her team rally from a two-goal deficit and beat Bishop Chatard 4-2 in overtime.
Well, with her strong leg, Wilson has been used to take free kicks the past two seasons. The 5-10 junior scored twice last year, and her two goals Tuesday on free kicks near midfield in the quarterfinals of the Warren Central Sectional gave her three this year...
No. 12 Chatard ends the year 12-3-1...
Wilson's first goal came on a free kick just across midfield that sailed over the outstretched arms of Chatard goalkeeper Christy Fillenwarth. It pulled the Wildcats within 2-1 early in the second half.
Her second score made it 4-2 in overtime. She hit another long free kick that was ruled a score after the officials conferred.
Junior Natalie Duncan tied the score at 2-2 with 17 minutes left in regulation to send it into overtime, and senior Amy Langdon put Lawrence North up 3-2 early in overtime.
Bishop Chatard senior Julie Scheidler scored two first-half goals to put the Trojans up 2-0.
