The North Central boys captured their first sectional title since 1998, edging Cathedral 59-62. Pike's boys were third, followed by Lawrence North and Bishop Chatard. Chatard's Poore won the race in 15:40.

The Lawrence North girls ended Cathedral's four-year run as sectional champs in a close race with Chatard.

The Wildcats edged the Trojans 37-39. Cathedral took third, North Central was fourth and Brebeuf placed fifth. Cathedral sophomore Katie Achtien won the meet in 14:45. Lawrence North's Alex Daugherty, Erika Utter and Jennifer Hall took second, third and fifth, respectively

Brebeuf will host the regional Saturday.
