...(Beech Grover junior guard John Hart) was 10-for-10 from the free throw line after regulation, including 6-for-6 in the final minute of the third overtime, as the Hornets staved off Bishop Chatard 70-65.

... Hart's first two free throws of the third overtime started a string of seven points that put Beech Grove up 60-53. Chatard reserve guard Billy Kennedy's 3-pointer pulled the Trojans within 66-65, but Hart made two free throws with 11.6 seconds left. Chatard turned the ball over with 2.9 seconds to play and Hart finished by making two more foul shots.

"Chatard did a nice job of taking him out of his game, but he's really matured as a basketball player," (Beech Grove Coach Randy) Males said. "He didn't get down. He just kept his cool."

Junior guard David Sanders added 17 points and junior Curtis Clem had 14 for Beech Grove.

Senior Tyler Kleinschmidt led Chatard (15-7) with 21 points, all coming after halftime before he fouled out with 2:58 left in the third overtime. Kleinschmidt banked in a 3-pointer with nine seconds to play in regulation to send the game into overtime tied at 45.

His drive tied it at 49 at the end of the first overtime, and his offensive rebound basket with 1:13 left in the second overtime sent the game into a third overtime tied at 53.

The score was tied at 11 after one quarter, and Beech Grove was up 21-17 at halftime and 34-27 after three quarters.
