High School Girls Track Preview
Chatard returns 400 relay team plus top senior
North Central and Brebeuf are among area teams that expect to return a number of runners

Bishop Chatard High School girls track coach Dan Kinghorn is looking forward to this year's season as the 400-meter relay team that finished third at the state championship a year ago returns all of its runners. Kourtney Crawford, Ebony Robinson, Natalie DiSalvo and Kate Muskat finished that the race in 48.04 seconds. Kinghorn also expects his program to benefit from the return of senior Annie Barnes and help from members of the school's strong cross country team (Chatard finished seventh in the state last year). "(Barnes) is someone that we expect to contribute quite a bit in the 400- and 800-meter runs," Kinghorn said. "She's been injured ever since she blew out her knee as a sophomore and had a tough time coming back the last two years. Basically we try to win our city championship as a team. From there, we want to qualify as many people in as many events as possible in the state meet."
