Dury wins award
Among other honorees, Bishop Chatard junior John Dury was recognized with the Mel Wysong Offensive Player of the Year Award. Dury hit .510 with 17 doubles, five home runs and 38 RBIs. Others cited were Parker with the Gene Botriff Pitcher of the Year Award, New Albany's Drew Haynes with the Marvin Groth Defensive Player of the Year Award, Norwell's Rhett Goodmiller with the Chris Rood Junior of the Year Award, Fremont's Ryan Palmerton with the Tom Bradley Rookie of the Year Award, South Central's Dale Bucher with the Mike Niksic Assistant Coach of the Year Award and Norwell's Kelby Weybright with the Doc Bolton Coach of the Year Award.
