Remembering David Soots

David Soots, beloved teacher at Bishop Chatard High School from 1974 to 2003, recently passed away while traveling in Madrid, Spain.

"Mr. Soots" was at Bishop Chatard for 29 years, teaching English, Comparative World Culture and American Literature. He was very active on the BCHS campus serving as English department chair, moderator of yearbook/newspaper, tennis coach, senior class sponsor, and much more.

He was a world traveler, wonderful teacher and friend. His countless contributions to our school have made him a BCHS icon.

Golden Opportunities Capital Campaign
A message from BCHS President Bill Sahm:

The past 50 years at Bishop Chatard High School have been nothing short of remarkable thanks to all of the faculty and staff, parents, students and friends of Bishop Chatard who have contributed to the success of over 8,000 graduates. I believe that the future holds even more promise thanks to the generosity of those who have supported the 50th Anniversary Golden Opportunities Campaign. We have currently raised $3,986,879.04 toward our goal of $4.5 million and fully expect to meet this milestone in time to make all of the planned improvements by August 2012!

We are challenging all of our Bishop Chatard alumni to carry our campaign over the goal and secure a strong foundation for the next generation of students. Please know that every gift, regardless of the pledge amount, is crucial to the success of this campaign and will be greatly appreciated by all the current and future BCHS families. Click here to pledge online and show your Trojan Spirit!

God Bless,

Bill Sahm

matties message

Dear Alumni,

Welcome to 2012! With every new year comes new resolutions.  Have you made your New Year's resolutions yet? I would like to challenge you to keep Bishop Chatard in mind when making your resolutions!  Here are some ideas: try to make it to a Bishop Chatard athletic event; join the BCHS Booster Club; attend the Fall play or Spring Musical; nominate an alumni for the Bishop Chatard Achievement Awards; support the GO Campaign (no amount is too small); or attend the Annual Fund Dinner.

Also, please remember to keep Bishop Chatard alumni, students, faculty and staff in your prayers!

I look forward to hearing from you during the year and wish you much happiness and success in 2012!

God Bless,
