Extracurricular Activities

Extracurricular activities play an important role in the life of a Bishop Chatard student. Friends are made, skills are honed and minds are opened via participation in activities outside of the classroom. A large variety of clubs are active from the newly created SERV (Students Encouraging Religious Vocations) to traditional favorites such as National Honor Society and Key Club. The student-published newspaper, The Trojan Tribune, was recently named a Gold Medalist newspaper. The annual student-led Dance Marathon raised over $24,000 for Riley Children's Hospital. The Fall and Spring Plays, as well as a juried art show, provide fine arts experience.

Participation in numerous IHSAA sponsored athletics as well as selected intramural and club sports provides an opportunity for physical challenge for any skill level. Recent accomplishments include a state football championship in 2006 and 2007, 6th place in girls cross country in 2007 and second in the state in girls Class 3A basketball. In 2008, 27 fall athletes were named Academic All-State recipients.
