The Summa Cum Laude Program is designed to challenge and prepare the most gifted college-bound student for a successful post-secondary career. There are currently 5 seniors and 11 juniors working on completing the program.

Sixteen Bishop Chatard students received AP Scholar Awards for outstanding achievement on AP tests taken in 2011. Six were named AP Scholars with Honor and two were named AP Scholars with Distinction. Bishop Chatard offers 17 AP classes.

For the third consecutive year, BCHS was represented among Indy Star's Top 40 list of Academic All-Stars in 2011 (One of only 2 schools in the state with that distinction).

Two members of the Class of 2011 were named National Merit Finalists and one was given 'Commended Student' recognition.
Two members of the Class of 2012 were given 'Commended Student' recognition.

Of the 504 student-athletes at Bishop Chatard during the 2010-2011 school year, 48 were awarded Academic All-State and 6 were awarded Academic All-American Honors.

49 of the 122 graduates of the Class of 2011 were inducted into the National Honor Society.

The 122 members of the BCHS Class of 2011 collectively earned over $9.7 million in scholarships. $538,600 was received by the 18 graduates who participated in the school's Academic Support program.

BCHS students attend weekly Mass with their classmates and monthly all-school liturgies.

More than 95 percent of BCHS students participate in annual faith-based retreats.

Since 1999, the Indianapolis Star has named 13 BCHS students as male or female City Athletes of the Year.
