Facilities
Built in 1960, the Bishop Chatard campus consists of the main building housing the gymnasium/auditorium, cafeteria, administrative offices and classrooms. The original convent, now called the St. Benedict Center, houses the chapel, administrative offices and some athletic facilities.
In 1997, Bishop Chatard conducted its first capital campaign in order to raise $2,000,000 for renovations and improvements. These included a new roof, windows, main entrance and lobby, along with modifications in the parking and landscaping. In 1999, the school conducted a $1,500,000 building drive for a Fine Arts/Media Center addition to the south end of the main building. This addition houses six classrooms and three suites that are dedicated to band/music, studio art, and the library/media center.
Recently, the main building has undergone a $2.3 million renovation involving the halls, lockers, cafeteria and a 17,000 sq. ft. addition with practice gym and athletic facilities. Added elevators make the campus handicap accessible.
