Varsity Volleyball places 2nd in Yorktown Invite

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Volleyball team as they defeated two ranked teams on their way to 2nd place in the Yorktown Invite on Aug 28. They defeated then No.1-ranked Brebeuf and No.9-ranked Delta before falling to No.3 ranked Bellmont. See the full story in the Aug 30 article on the right.

Cross Country teams excel

Congratulations to the girls cross country team which won the Noblesville Relays on Aug 28. The tandem of Arden Burch and Mary Davis finished first and beat their nearest compettitors by 1:20. Partners Sophie Meier/Emily Lux finished fifth and Katie Barnes/Stephanie Barnes finished 7th to help seal the victory for the Trojans.

Congratulations also to the boys team who finished 3rd. The Trojans put together a great team effort. Top pair Daniel and Will Soffera were in third place before an injury forced them out of the race. Partners PatCiresi/Joel Burch, Jackson Naylor-Cook/Andy Barnett, Kenny Kirschner/Will Shine, and Liam Foran/Luke Felabom all picked up the slack and led the Trojans to the 3rd place finish

Girls & Parents Basketball Meeting: Sept 12

All girls and their parents are invited to a brief meeting on Sunday, Sept. 12, 7-7:30p in the Cafeteria. Preseason conditioning, tryouts and the plans for the season will be discussed. Preseason conditioning will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 14 and runs every Tuesday & Thrusday until the beginning of practices. Boys soccer plays Guerin to a tie, and a close loss

Echocardiograms offered for student athletes: Aug 31, Oct 19

Girls Golf places first

Congratulations to BCHS Girls Golf team as they won the Lawrence Central Invite, placing 1st over 12 teams with a score of 310. Currently ranked 11th in the state, the girls had the top 3 golfers: Paige Crafton:1st, Cathy Doyle 2nd and Maggie Dodson 3rd. Team members include: Paige Crafton, Cathy Doyle, Maggie Dodson, Sammie Summerlin and Christian Williams. Coach is Beth Brogan. Congratulations girls!

Boys lacrosse fall league forming now

BCHS boys interested in joining fellow Trojans on a fall indoor lacrosse league are encouraged to contact Linda Groves at (317)540-1494 or Bridgid Hughbanks at (317)823-4213 to learn more. This is great training for the official spring BCHS lacrosse season! The season runs Sept. 30 to Dec. 9, and cost is $125. Space on the team is limited and is filling quickly!

NCAA Eligibility Center

Any student who plans to play sports in college should visit the NCAA Eligibility Center to sign up and begin the required academic verification process. Visit www.eligibilitycenter.org to get started. It is recommended that this process be initiated by the summer prior to senior year.

The Wendy's High School Heisman Award 2010 is open to student/athletes who will be seniors during the 2010/11 school year. Applications are now avalable. They are due Oct. 3. Details
