Parish Service Day

Students Helping



Bishop Chatard students experienced a homecoming of sorts on April 8, 2010 with many returning to their North Deanery parishes and grade schools for a Parish Service Day.

Groups of students and teachers went to St. Matthew, St. Pius X, St. Luke, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Joan of Arc, St. Simon, Christ the King, St. Andrew, St. Lawrence, and Immaculate Heart of Mary parishes in Indianapolis.

Students cleaned churches and helped with yard work, organized equipment for parish festivals and other activities, helped in parish and school offices, worked with grade school students in classrooms, help refurbish athletic fields, and carried out a variety of miscellaneous tasks.

Many students had the opportunity to work with young North Deanery students and get a glimpse of the variety of day-to-day needs that exist in Catholic parishes..
