Supporting and Encouraging Religious and Priestly Vocations (SERV)

The SERV members challenge each of us, young and old, to do your part in building the Kingdom of God through our prayerful and concrete support of priestly and religious vocations!

Our Mission Statement

Students Encouraging Religious Vocations (SERV) exists to create an atmosphere that promotes a free, honest, and informed discernment of God.s will and call in the lives of young people. We put our faith in Jesus Christ to help guide us in the education and awareness of religious vocations, particularly within our own Bishop Chatard community.

While we ourselves may or may not feel personally called to priestly or religious life, we feel we serve our school and our church through these efforts.

What you can do

  • Ask and invite those people you think would make good and holy religious men and woman if they have ever considered this vocation. Tell them what yousee in them that makes you want to ask that question.
  • Be faithful to our common vocation to know love and serve God in all that we do (whether we are single, married, priest or religious) so that our young peoplehave good role models to look to in discerning God's will and being committed to whatever vocation they feel called to.
  • Pray as a community and personally for good and holy priests and religious.
  • Encourage those who are in our seminaries and schools of formation, letting them know you support them in prayer and other ways.
