Back To School Timeline - Before School Starts

  • JULY 27: Freshman Parents and Parents of Transfer Students: Look for an email containing your student's access ID number and access password for use in PowerSchool. If you do not receive this email, please contact Ame Alerding, Guidance Assistant, at You'll need these to access PowerSchool beginning July 28.
  • JULY 28: PowerSchool Parent Portal will open. All parents will receive an email with instructions on completing 'back to school' information. NO INFORMATION has carried over, so all parents need to enter student information this year.

    Sophomore/Junior/Senior Parents: Use your PowerSchool Parent account from last year. If you have forgotten your username and/or password, click the 'Forgot Username or Password?' on the PowerSchool login screen. You should receive an email shortly after submitting the form from with reset instructions. Check your spam folder or make sure to whitelist the email address above so that you receive it.

    Freshman/Transfer Student Parents: Use the student access ID number and access password you received in the July 27 email to either create your PowerSchool account or link a current PowerSchool account to your new student.
    How to create/link PowerSchool accounts

  • JULY 28 - AUGUST 7: Complete Back To School documents in your PowerSchool account: Upon logging in to PowerSchool, click on the PowerSchool Registration link on the bottom left hand corner of the screen to complete the back to school information. This must be completed by Aug. 7. Students can't receive their iPads until all documents are complete.

  • AUGUST 3: All voucher applications should be completed in order to receive the state voucher for the 2017/18 school year. See 'Vouchers' below.
  • AUGUST 8: All families must either have their tuition paid in full or a tuition plan in place through FACTS in order for students to start classes or receive their iPads. See 'Tuition' below.
  • AUGUST 8: Bring both the completed Picture Order Form for school ID photos and the Community Serivce Day Permission Form to orientation day!

  • August 4, Friday - Staff Day of Reflection, school offices will be closed
  • August 8, Tuesday - Freshman Orientation, 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (snack provided)
  • August 8, Tuesday - Freshman Parent Coffee, 7:30 a.m. inside the football stadium near the concession stand
  • August 8, Tuesday - Upperclassman Orientation, 1:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
  • August 10, Thursday - First full day of school for all students, 7:50 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
  • August 11, Friday - Special Schedule, dismissal at 2:15 p.m.
  • August 15, Tuesday - All-School Mass/Feast of the Assumption, 9:45 a.m.
  • August 19, Saturday - Athletic Booster Club Booster Bash, 7-11 p.m. at the BCHS Stadium
  • August 23, Wednesday - Back-to-School Night, 6:00 p.m.

Tuition Payment

All families must have their tuition balance either paid in full or have a payment plan in place (through FACTS) in order for their student(s) to start classes or receive their iPad on Aug. 8. If you have not set up your payment plan, please do so immediately. Login in to FACTS to setup your plan. Free/Reduced Lunch Application

Bishop Chatard participates in the National School Lunch Program which provides free or reduced-priced breakfast and lunch to those students who qualify. To complete an application for this benefit:

  3. If you do not have a MyMealtime account, you will need to create one by clicking on 'Create New Profile' using the above link.

Voucher Applications are due August 3

Applications to the Indiana Choice Scholarship 'State Voucher' program must be completed by Aug. 3, 2017 in order to receive the state voucher for the 2017-2018 school year.

The BCHS Business Office is requesting anyone who is eligible for a voucher, to schedule an appointment to review and apply for your state voucher for your child.

Please bring your signed 2016 1040 federal tax return plus any other supporting documentation for any non-taxable income that you may receive. A listing of these items is provided on the BCHS voucher page, under 'Eligibility' as well as guidelines to determine eligibility.

All voucher appointments much be completed and all payment arrangements must be setup before a student may start classes or receive their iPad on Aug. 8. Please see Karen Feeney, Tuition Manager,, for questions about your status in regards to this rule.

Reminder: To receive any financial aid from Bishop Chatard, you must apply for financial aid through the BCHS FACTS financial aid portal. No financial aid from Bishop Chatard will be awarded unless a FACTS application is complete. ('State Vouchers' and SGO financial aid are NOT considered aid from BCHS.)

  • Parents: We do have volunteer opportunities of all kinds for interested parents during the school year. Sign up through the Trinity Parent Club to indicate your interest.

Parking Registration Information

Online parking registration for the 2017-2018 school year was sent via email on July 19th to senior parents only. Parking spots will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. A week after the seniors have signed up, parking registration will be sent via email to junior parents. Students will receive their assigned parking spots on orientation day, Tuesday, August 8, 2017.

Important: In order to be considered for a parking spot, your student must have a license and be actively driving a car to school by the first full day of school, Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017. Otherwise please DO NOT register him/her for a parking spot.
