Shadowing at BCHS
All 8th grade students are invited to spend a day at Bishop Chatard High School, shadowing a current 9th grade student as he/she attends classes. Shadowing provides 8th grade students the opportunity to experience first hand a "day in the life" of a Bishop Chatard student.
Shadowing Dates
Preliminary requests for shadowing dates can be made online via the 'Request a Date' button on the right. This request form merely starts the process. After completion, you will receive a call from the admissions department, confirming the date assigned to you.
The prospective student is responsible for getting permission from his/her grade school principal, as each school has a different policy in allowing students to shadow.

About Your Shadowing Day

Your scheduled day will begin at 7:20 am at the conference room in the St. Benedict Center.
(This is the small
building at the south end of the campus.)

There you will meet your 9th grade host for the visit; if no host was requested,
we will select a 9th grade host for you who has similar
academic and extracurricular interests.

Dress for the day is "school-type attire".
(Please no jeans, sweatpants, or t-shirts). Appropriate attire includes
pants, skirts, shirts, sweaters, or school sweatshirts (your grade
school or BCHS!)

You will be given a pass for a free "Meal Deal" at BCHS (menu), or you are welcome to bring money for other items or
to pack your own lunch.

The school day ends at 3:10 p.m. All shadows will be required to
check in at the admissions office before leaving for the day. Rides
should expect to pick you up at approximately 3:15 p.m.
