The Guidance & School Counseling Department at Bishop Chatard High School offers academic support, personal support, high school, college and career guidance to the high school student through class counselors and support personnel. We are always available to answer any questions you may have.
ISTEP+ testing begins Feb. 26
ISTEP+ testing is quickly approaching. ISTEP+ Part One testing window begins on February 26 and ends on March 9. Part Two begins on April 16 and ends on May 4. All sophomores will test in English and Math; all students currently in Biology will test in Science. Juniors who need to retest will also take the English and/or math portions during these windows. Meeting proficiency on the English and Math ISTEP+ tests is a graduation requirement. Please be sure that your student is present during these testing windows.
Class of 2018 - Please bring documentaton of your college acceptance and scholarship information
Please drop off information about your college acceptances and scholarship awards to the Counseling Office. The Class of 2018 College Acceptance and Scholarship page is now online!

Just for Juniors: Signup for your College Planning Meeting
Class of 2019 Parents & Students: Signup is open for "Just for Juniors" College Planning Meetings with BCHS College Counselor Pam Nixon. Sign up here. These meetings will also be available on mornings in June if you prefer to wait until summer. Students are asked to complete the College Autobiography form prior to a meeting. NOTE: Students must be signed in to their BCHS email to use this autobiography form.
Mark your calendars: College Information Night is March 27. This evening is a great time to learn more about the college search process.
SAT/ACT Winter Test Prep Opportunities
The Counseling Department has compiled a list of opportunities to help you prepare for taking SAT/ACT tests, items from private tutors, to BCHS class, to online help. View the list of opportunities here
PSAT Scores are now online
The 2017 PSAT scores are now available via your collegeboard account (Login to your account here). For help understanding your scores, view the step-by-step guide found in the BCHS Counseling Website. Don't hesitate to stop by the School Counseling Office if you have questions.
