Friends don't let friends' memory fade at Bishop Chatard

Thanks to a tight-knit group of friends, two high school sweethearts are leaving behind a legacy long after their tragic death.
On their way to a Florida vacation on Jan. 1, 2006, Joe and Barb Krier died when a plane Joe was piloting crashed in fog in Dawson, Ga. Their three children survived the crash...
.. friends from the Class of 1974 have kept the couple's memory alive through a nonprofit that raises money to provide grants for students to attend Chatard, said (Sherry) Pappas, who was one of Barb's best friends. It's called the Joe & Barb Krier Memorial Grant.

Our Note about the Tropical Tribute to Joe & Barb: All are welcome to attend the 'Tropical Tribute', which raises funds for the Joe & Barb Krier Memorial Grant. The tribute will be held on Fri, March 18 from 7:30pm to midnight at the Northside Knights of Columbus, 2100 E. 71st Street. Cost for the evening is $30 and includes drinks, appetizers and live music from Living Proof. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
