Host Family Needed for International Student
Bishop Chatard continues to expand the international program with the acceptance of four new students for the 2017/18 school year. The success of this program is dependent on host families who provide a room, meals and loving support to one of these fine students.
This fall, we will be welcoming two girls (one freshman and one sophomore) and two boys (one freshman and one sophomore).
We currently are looking for a host for one of the students, Zewen (John).
Zewen (John) is from China, and he will be a member of the sophomore class. John likes to play table tennis, swim, and play drums. He's also interested in trying basketball, baseball and cooking, among other new activities. He is described as being a kind, even-tempered, helpful and honest young man with a positive attitude. John will soon be attending a two-week camp in Ohio, where he will learn more about American culture and customs, prior to arriving in Indianapolis.
Host families receive monthly funds ($700/month, tax-free) to meet the needs of the student, such as food and transportation. The student is responsible for all tuition and school-related expenses. They also receive spending money.
Please contact Catherine Welch for further explanation of the program and answers to any questions you may have about hosting. You can reach her via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone at 251-1451, ext. 2257.
We hope you will consider opening your heart and home to this international student, allowing him to see America through your eyes. You will be gaining a new family member while expanding your own family's world view, and also learning about your student's traditions, language, food and more!
We ask that you prayerfully consider opening your home to this wonderful opportunity.
