Parent's Prayer to Mary

Mary, Mother of our Savior, Jesus, you endured distress and suffering in the development of your child. Help me as a parent to guide my child(ren) to know and live the life Your Son calls us to. Help me to be affirming, understanding, steadfast and consistent in my beliefs and actions, always exhibiting myself as a loving and caring parent. Help me to be focused on Jesus and not myself that my child(ren) will know the love of God for them through me.

Keep them out of harm's way, give them right judgment to act wisely to avoid those situations that can destroy their innocence and personal self worth. Aid them when they are in distress, and permit them to always share with me whatever happens to them. Let me be there for them: a tree to shade them, a fire to energize them, a rock to be steadfast for them, and open arms to welcome them. May Your Son continue to bless me as we journey together to make the kingdom come.

I ask this in the name of Jesus who is Lord forever. AMEN
