Graduation Requirements
In order to receive a diploma from Bishop Chatard High School, a student must fulfill all of the
following requirements. The student:

Must successfully complete all of the required courses, including religion (Further Details)

Must complete the senior service requirements

Must meet the minimum standards on the End of Course Assessments in Algebra I and English 10 or qualify for a waiver.
Clarifications from the Student Handbook:

"Any student who does not pass all required courses or fails to complete the service requirement will not be permitted to participate in graduation ceremonies. As soon as the school receives official notification that the work has been successfully completed, the school will send a diploma.

Any student who successfully completes the required courses and service but has not passed the End of Course Assessments will be permitted to participate in graduation ceremonies but will receive a certificate of attendance instead of a diploma. As soon as the school receives official notification that the student has passed the End of Course Assessments, the school will send a diploma.

A student who is withdrawn from the school for major disciplinary infractions or severe absence may not participate in graduation ceremonies. He/she may attend the Baccalaureate Liturgy as a guest with the approval of the principal.

Unless excused by the president, any senior who does not attend the graduation practice and alumni breakfast may not participate in graduation ceremonies. He or she may attend the Baccalaureate Liturgy with the approval of the principal."
All tuition and fees must be paid to receive a diploma and final grades.
We realize that it is a heartbreaking and often embarrassing experience for a senior not to be able to participate in graduation, but these policies were developed in justice to those many seniors who have worked long and hard to be a part of graduation. Bishop Chatard reserves the right to establish policies concerning a student's participation.
