Blood Drive in memory of Jack Shockley: Nov. 29

Give Blood Logo

As you may know, Jack Shockley, BCHS Class of 2014, was the victim of a violent murder on August 12, 2020. Though Jack is one of our own, a parish member, a classmate, a co-worker and a friend, he is just one example of the violence that is happening in Indianapolis this year. As of October 19, there have been 165 criminal homicides in Indianapolis in 2020. That is a 43% increase over 2019. In addition, there have been 480 non fatal shootings this year, which is a 40% increase over last year.

There is a severe shortage in our blood supply, and part of that shortage can be attributed to the record setting violence in our city. Any amount of violence is too much. Help us mitigate the unwarranted loss of life by ensuring that we have the blood supply to help the victims of this senseless violence. Donate a pint of your blood so that others can live. Let’s honor Jack by making a difference for the other victims of violence in Indianapolis.
