Summer Programs

BCHS receives an amazing amount of summer program information from colleges and other organizations. These programs may revolve around a career or field of study and are also a good way to explore a college you might be interested in. These often have a cost, but some can be found that are not so expensive.

If you have a specific interest, contact the BCHS school counselors to see what information they have. Or, look on the website of the college you are interested in to find what they are offering.

Registration for these programs often opens in early spring, with late spring deadlines, so plan ahead.

Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) is a two-week academic summer program bringing together 1,950 students from 150+ countries and all 50 U.S. states. With $3M+ in need-based aid, YYGS offers collaborative, discussion-driven learning across STEM, social sciences, humanities, and cross-disciplinary tracks.
“Before the beginning of YYGS, I remember feeling nervous and questioned how the event would run. But, by day two, I realized that I didn’t need to worry. The YYGS Program questioned things I thought I knew, scratched beyond the surface level, and helped me effectively communicate my ideas and opinions. I’ve grown with a community of inspiring students, dedicated staff, and passionate professors. Words couldn’t even begin to describe this experience, but I am beyond grateful.” – Janine, YYGS Alumna, Ghana
