Welcome to Academics & School Counseling

Student in chemistry labBishop Chatard is the North Deanery high school of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, and is consistently the top choice among North Deanery families seeking a strong Catholic education for their children. Our team of experienced and well-trained educators meet students where they are academically and then elevate expectations, guiding and encouraging young men and women to achieve a higher level of learning.

Bishop Chatard offers nearly 50 diverse honors, Advanced Placement and Dual Credit courses to challenge students. The school’s Academic Support Program guides students who need additional assistance to achieve their full potential in an inclusive school environment. 61 percent of the Class of 2023 were awarded Academic Honors Diplomas. 97 percent of the seniors continued to post-graduate education. 86 percent graduated with college credits – an average 13.94 college credits earned, demonstrating that Bishop Chatard students are not just college ready, they are ready to succeed.

With academic excellence as our goal in the classroom, we maintain a culture focused on faith formation and service leadership that permeates everything we do in a purposeful and structured manner. Faith is not only something we study in Theology class; it defines us.
