Tropical Tribute: July 11

Tropical Tribute The BCHS community is invited to the 4th Annual Tropical Tribute at the Northside K of C on Saturday July 11, 2009, from 7:30 p.m. until midnight. Beer, wine, hors d'oeuvres, and dancing are included in the $30.00 ticket price. All proceeds will go to the Joe and Barb Krier .74 Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship, renewable for 4 years, is awarded to a North Deanery 8th grader each year based on his/her qualities of friendship, service, citizenship, and work ethic. 2009 Annual Fund Update

Pledged $330,223 Goal $375,000

There is still plenty of time to contribute to the BCHS 2009 Annual Fund. All donations are dedicated to tuition assistance, classroom improvements, and technology upgrades.

» BCHS offices closed June 29 to July 3 The Bishop Chatard administrative offices will be closed the week of June 29 to July 3. Summer school classes will continue as planned. Offices will reopen on Monday, July 6. Bishop Chatard High School wishes you and your family a safe and restful 4th of July holiday!
» Summer Reading Get a head start on required reading during the summer. The Summer Reading List is now available.
» Girls Track members place in State Finals 3200 Relay Congratulations to the girls 3200M relay team as they placed 2ND in the STATE! The team consisted of Maggie Bell, Mary Davis, Emily Boyce and Christine Kirby. StatePoleVault They also smashed the old school record by 7 seconds.
Congratulations also to Pole Vaulter, Alex Metzger who placed 3rd in the STATE and tied her own school record! Well done, Lady Trojans! More track pictures can be found under the "Photos" link, above left.
» Summer Music Lessons Music lessons for current and incoming students will begin June 10 at BCHS. The lessons are free of charge to any interested Bishop Chatard student. Contact music teacher Amy Fry at afry@bishopchatard.org to schedule your lesson. Lessons will be given on any musical instrument.

» Key dates for the 2009-10 Academic Year A "bare bones" calendar for the next school year including vacations and other important dates is now available. See "Calendars" on the left for a link to the calendar.
» Recycle your printer cartridges and cell phones and help Boys Lacrosse Go green with the BCHS Boys Lacrosse Team! Turn in your old printer cartridges and cell phones in the St. Benedict Center administrative hallway. The Boys LAX team will recycle them, and funds will be used to help pay the team's expenses. » Trojans vs. Irish Football at Lucas Oil: Sept. 12 The Bishop Chatard Trojan football team will meet the Cathedral Irish this year at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sept. 12. Game time: 2:45 p.m. Tickets are $14 at the gate, but you can purchase advance tickets at Bishop Chatard's athletic office for $11 (adults) and $6 (8th grade and under). A Trojan ticket order form is now available for the game and season passes. Get your tickets now and don't miss the 'big game'! For more information, call 251-1451, ext. 2249.

» Trojan Tots Preschool and Child Care Ministry enrolling now The Bishop Chatard 'Trojan Tots' Preschool and Child Care Ministry is now enrolling for the 2009-2010 school year. This ministry, created in 2008 to serve employees of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis North Deanery, will expand its outreach and be available to parishioners of the North Deanery this year.
Located in the St. Benedict Center on the BCHS campus, the center accommodates newborns to 5-year-olds. Operating on a school year calendar, Trojan Tots will open for the 2009-2010 school year on Aug. 10, and hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
