Boys Soccer 2025: 2nd in the State!

The No. 11 boys soccer team finished their amazing season in a 2025 state championship game that will be considered an all-time classic, missing becoming state champions 0-1 to Guerin Catholic. The game was tied in regulation and also in overtime 0-0. A record-setting 13 rounds of penalty kicks then ensued, with BCHS losing 11-12 in PK. Bishop Chatard senior goalkeeper Jack Ryan recorded a record-setting 15 saves through 94 minutes.

On the road to state finals, the team:

  • Defeated No. 8 Heritage Hills, 2-1 to become semi-state champions. Goals were made by Vikas Walling and Andrew Taylor.
  • Defeated Cascade 2-0 to win the 2A Regional Championship. Andrew Taylor and Vikas Walling scored one goal each. Jack Ryan had the shutout.
  • Defeated New Castle, 4-0 in regionals semi. Vikas Walling scored twice. Kellen Ford and Andrew Taylor scored one goal each. Clive O’Neill had two assists and Eli Yancey had one.
  • Defeated Ritter, 2-1 to become sectional champions: Andrew Taylor scored twice for the Trojans
  • Defeated Washington, 8-0 in first round play
