Architectural Drafting and Design I will introduce students to the beginning principles and concepts of Architectural Design. Both 2D and 3D design software will be utilized. Real world applications of architecture will be utilized in drafting and problem solving exercises. Architectural Drafting Design I gives students a basic understanding of the detailing skills commonly used by drafting technicians. This course also provides students with a basic understanding of the features and considerations associated with the operation of a computer-aided design (CAD) system. Students will gain valuable hands-on experience. They will be expected to complete several projects; topics include: 2D drawing commands, coordinate systems, editing commands, inquiry commands, text, and basic dimensioning.
