Stock Gifts - Bishop Chatard High School

Thank you for supporting Bishop Chatard High School through the donation of stock or mutual funds to the school.

This type of gift is processed through the Archdiocese of Indianapolis brokerage account, which helps streamline transactions, reduce processing costs, and ensure IRS-approved acknowledgments.

Follow the steps below for your donation of publicly traded securities such as stock, mutual funds, and cash through your brokerage account.

Step 1: Initiate the Transfer with your Broker

Contact your financial institution for their required forms and procedures. Provide them the delivery instructions below. Please ask them to include the donor’s name on all transfers.

Notes

Your financial institution may require additional forms or a letter of instruction.
If transferring mutual funds, confirm they are transferable.
If they are not transferable, contact Caryn Wilkinson at Morgan Stanley, at 317-818-7388 for further assistance.

Step 2: Complete the Notification Form

This form will let BCHS and the Archdiocese know of your gift. If not completed, the donation will be placed into a general fund at the Archdiocese of Indianapolis until identified.

Donor name, address, contact info
Broker name, address, contact info
Stock or fund name, number of shares, approx. value and transfer date
Gift Designation at Bishop Chatard (Annual Fund, Capital Campaign, pledge, etc.)

Step 3: Confirm Your Transfer

After you’ve completed the above steps, be sure to follow up and confirm with your broker or advisor that the gift has been transferred from your account to the Archdiocese’s account.

Once received by the Archdiocese, it usually takes 5-7 business days for your transfer to be liquidated, settled, and posted. At that point, the Archdiocese will transfer the funds to Bishop Chatard, notify us of the transfer, and process a tax acknowledgment for your gift.
