Congratulations to Julia Score as she was honored as the 2026 Female City Athlete of the Year.
Since entering high school, Julia has established herself as one of the area’s top cross country and track and field athletes. She earned All-City and All-State recognition every year in both sports, with her senior track season still in progress. She will be competing in the 3200m run and 4×800 relay in the 2026 state meet.
In cross country, Julia finished among the top 10 in all four seasons and captured three city and conference titles. She also claimed two sectional championships and three regional championships during her career. On the track, she placed second in the state in the 3,200-meter run as a junior.
Her accomplishments include eight city championships, six conference titles, four sectional championships, and three regional championships.
While Julia excels athletically, her academic excellence also shines. She has earned Academic All-State honors and ranks fifth in her graduating class.
A team captain, Score has also been active beyond athletics, serving as a student ambassador for three years, participating in Math Club for two years, and contributing to Student Council for one year.
She plans to study biology at Wake Forest University, where she will continue competing in cross country and track and field while pursuing her goal of becoming a physician assistant.
