Congratulations to Phoenix Boyer on being named the 2026 Indianapolis City Male Athlete of the Year!
During his BCHS career, Boyer has set BCHS school records in the 400, 110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles, and the 4×400 relay. He was state runner-up in 300 hurdles as a junior and was on the runner-up 4×400 relay team as a sophomore and junior. He is heading to the 2026 state meet as the regional champion in the 400m dash and a member of the regional second place 4×400 relay team. The Bishop Chatard senior is one of the top track and field athletes in Indiana.
Throughout his four years at Bishop Chatard, he was known for showing up in big moments and delivering strong performances. Coaches cite his consistency and determination and praise the work he puts in behind the scenes.
Phoenix is also quick to thank the people around him who helped him succeed. He credits his teammates, coaches, and the Bishop Chatard track program for helping him and keeping him motivated throughout his career.
Next year, Boyer will continue both studies and sports at Indiana University, where he’ll bring the same work ethic and competitive spirit to the Hoosiers’ program along with 2 other BCHS alumni.
