The FAFSA Application is required for ALL Indiana seniors by April 15, 2024.
Any family that chooses not to fill out the FAFSA application, must sign a BCHS Waiver form and return to Ms. Saurine to be reported to the state.

FAFSA delays continue to cause possible changes in the college timeline. The ability to add or edit information on an already submitted FAFSA should be open “in the first half of March”.
May 1 is usually the enrollment deadline for students to put a deposit down at a school to hold their spot. The National Association for College Admission Counseling published a Enrollment Deadline Directory for many colleges who have adjusted their enrollment deadlines due to the FAFSA delay. This is a great resource, but always reach out to the admissions office with additional questions.
Reporting Scholarships and College Acceptances – Important!
- To report admission decisions to BCHS, students need to update their admissions decisions in Scoir. View how-to video. This needs to be done as soon as possible but no later that April 30 to be included in the graduation and Honors Night program.!
- Students should submit to BCHS any scholarship awards from any college or organization through the scholarship reporting form. This should be done by April 30.
- Students: please screenshot or take photos of all acceptance letters, and send them to the college counselor via email. Students are asked to send acceptance notifications for all schools they were accepted to, not just the one they are attending.
College Athletes
If you are playing a Division I or II sport, you need to request your final amateurism certificate.
College Enrollment
Remember, you need to put a deposit down at whatever school you decide you want to go to in order to hold your spot. Check your college’s website for their deadline, but here is a resource that can help find your deadline as well. Tell me where you are enrolling in Scoir!
May 1st Celebration
Though some of you might delay your decision because of the FAFSA, we are going to celebrate your success on National College Decision Day on May 1st! On May 1st, please wear a shirt/apparel for your chosen college/employer/military branch and stop by Guidance for some photos and a treat!
Requesting Dual Credit Transcripts
If your university is requesting transcripts for your dual credit classes, you will have to request those directly from the university you took the dual credit class through. If you are going to the university you took the class through (like IU, for example), you do not need to request transcripts from there, but be sure your classes are on file during your first-year scheduling meeting. You cannot request transcripts until the course is over (so if you are taking it now, you will need to wait until semester grades are finalized).
- For ENTR221 or ACCT100, request transcripts here (Vincennes U.)
- For W131 and P155: request transcripts here (IU)
- For THL216: request transcripts here (Marian U.)
- For EDUC101: request transcripts here (Ivy Tech)
Sending AP Scores
You need to send your AP scores to your colleges by June 20th. You’ll need to go into your College Board Account and let them know where you plan on enrolling. You get to send your scores for free to one college, so wait until you know where you are enrolling before you tell College Board where you want your AP scores sent.
Please come and see M4s. Saurine with questions! I know it’s a stressful time, but you are almost there! You can do it!
Mrs. Abbey Saurine can also be emailed at asaurine@bishopchatard.org with any questions!
