BCHS Head Boys Golf Coach David Boncosky is offering a Bishop Chatard Summer Golf Camp for boys and girls, a voluntary summer golf development program for current and incoming Bishop Chatard students in grades 7–12.
This is not a traditional golf camp. Every session takes place on the course, with 18 holes of live play and instruction from Head Boys Golf Coach David Boncosky. Players receive coaching in shot selection, course management, short game strategy, and mental toughness — all in real playing situations.
In addition to the camp, private instruction and club fitting consultation is available by appointment. See details below.
What Players Will Learn
Every player’s instruction— regardless of track or experience level — is built on the same foundation:
- Grip, alignment, posture, club face control and swing path
- Golf etiquette, attitude, and course awareness
From there, players advance into specialty shots and competitive strategy, including:
- Floppy flops, bump-and-runs, three wood magic and equator shots
- Learn to shape the ball – draw, fade, stinger, knock down, trap draw
- Reading course design and making smart decisions under pressure
This program is designed to help players improve through real golf, real situations, and real instruction on the course.

Registration and Payment
- Full payment is due at registration. Spots are not held without payment
- REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Wednesday, June 10, 2026
- Golf clubs and comfortable walking shoes (Coach’s experience: I used to wear golf shoes; I think they are optional not mandatory. Only time you really need them is when the ground is moist–morning dew etc.)
- Sunscreen
- A large water bottle — sessions run through the heat of the morning
- A push cart is certainly a good option but not required. Carrying water and walking as much as we will be walking gets tiring.
- A high protein breakfast before you leave home
- Snacks for the round: banana, beef jerky, protein bars
Additional Opportunities
Private instruction with Coach Boncosky is available by appointment at $100 per hour at Ironwood Golf Course or Riverside Golf Academy.
Club fitting consultation is available at $50 per hour. Coach Boncosky, a former PXG and Callaway certified club fitter, will accompany your player and family to the golf store and guide proper club selection. Buy the right clubs the first time.

“Golf is an amazing game. It teaches you so many things, and it teaches you so
much humility and discipline and absolute hard work because nothing is ever given
in this game.” – Aaron Rai, 2026 PGA Championship Winner
