In 2026 State competition, Katie Countryman advanced through prelims, to swim in the 2026 State Finals. There, she finished 13th in the 50 free and 18th in the 100 free, breaking another BCHS record along the way and posting a new USA Swimming Futures time cut. Congratulations, Katie, on a solid end to your swimming career at BCHS!
Sectional Results
The Girls Swimming and Diving team finished 5th out of 12 teams in the Lawrence North Sectional. HUGE consolation final points were scored by Reed, Loiselle, Chesebrough, Otte, Piatt, Fleming and Dilts in their individual events. Great team effort!
Congrats to these swimmers on their Sectional Championship Final podium finishes:
- 200 Medley Relay of Piatt, Loiselle, Fleming and Reed: 7th place
- 200 Free Relay of Bonhomme, Chesebrough, Fleming and Countryman: 3rd place
- 400 Free Relay of Bonhomme, Chesebrough, Dilts and Countryman: 3rd place
- Remy Bonhomme finished 4th in the 200 Individual Medley and 5th in the 100 butterfly as a freshman!
- Katie Countryman is your Sectional Champion and State Qualifier in both the 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard freestyle events, setting a new BCHS record and 2 Lawrence North pool records in the process.
Come and cheer on Katie at the IHSAA State Meet on Friday, Feb 13, 2026, at 6:00 pm at the IU Natatorium downtown. Top 16 will advance to the finals on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
