  • Improv Homecoming Show: Sept. 16 (Tues): Come see the Balding Eagles Improv team in their first show of the year!! Tuesday, September 16, in Guyton Theater at 7:00 pm. Free admission. Fun for all ages!
  • Mock Trial Team Callout: Sept. 16 (Tues): after school (3:20-4:15) in Art Room A. Join the Mock Trial Team where you learn how to argue in a courtroom, cross-examine and how to object without being objectionable - qualities that may come in handy outside of a Mock Trial.   • Investment Club Callout: Sept. 18 (Thurs): How would you like to:
    • Learn about stocks, bonds, mutual funds

  • Senior News

    • College Application Help Night: Sept. 23: 6-8 pm in the cafeteria. Seniors and their families are invited to come in for an application completion workshop. Come with questions, and Ms Burkett will answer all application questions, and troubleshoot. Set aside the two hours and send out all of your applications well before the Nov 1st deadline!
    College App Process Presentation
    Don't forget 'Fast Fix Friday', where Mrs. Burkett will be available in the cafeteria during ALL Friday lunches to answer questions or just checkin!

    Area 1 Opportunities: Service to BCHS, Parish or Faith Community

    • Trojan Tots: Help with childcare at Trojan Tots! Sign up here
    • Peer Tutor Club: If you are in National Honors Society/Spanish National Honors Society/SUMMA, need service hours, or just want to help your fellow classmates, then you can join the Peer Tutor Club! Fill out the survey! Someone from Guidance will be in touch with you when someone is looking for a tutor. Sign up here
    • St. Luke's Church - Sept. 26: North Deanery Youth Ministry could use help running a Jr. High gathering at Christ the King on Sept. 26 from 6-9:30 pm. Email Leighann Eckrich (Leckrich@stluke.org) to sign up.

    • St. Matthew's Church Opportunities: St. Matthew's could use your help for the following events and dates. Contact Mrs. Pam Fleming (pfleming@saintmatt.org) if you are interested!
      • Children’s Liturgy of the Word during the 9:30 am Mass
      • Shepherd's FLOCK, a program designed to help adults with developmental disabilities grow in their spiritual life. The group meets monthly on a rotating basis from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
      • Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 25
      Additionally, St. Matthew’s is in need of athletic department help. They need folks to run the concession stand, take tickets, keep score at basketball games and more. Contact Eddie Keever at eddiekeever@hotmail.com.

Area 2 Opportunities: Service rooted in Catholic Social Teaching

  • AYS (At Your School): This not-for-profit student-support organization working with students at St. Lawrence School is looking for volunteers for their before and after-school programming.
  • St. Vincent de Paul - Sept. 18: Join Mr. Hilton on Thursday, September 18th to serve at St. Vincent de Paul from 3:30 to 6:30 pm. Sign up here!

  • Free SAT, AP, and Math Tutoring via Schoolhouse.world for grades 8-12. Free tutoring for SATs, math courses, and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Live small-group tutoring via Zoom will focus on SAT reading, writing, and math as well as AP course tutoring in calculus, statistics, chemistry, biology, physics, and computer science.
