Application Process

Step One: Take the Placement Exam

Taking this test is a required step in the admissions process. It is offered at BCHS in November and December.
More information about the exam will be coming soon.

Step Two: Submit the Application

A complete application consists of 1) the online application and 2) the application documents. Applications can be submitted before the Placement Exam is taken.

Required documents as well as the application can be submitted through the Class of 2022 Application Portal.

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE DECEMBER 11, 2017.

Application Documents:

Electronic copies of these can be submitted through the Class of 2022 online application portal.

  1. 7th grade report card
  2. Most recent 8th grade report card
  3. 7th Grade ISTEP scores
  4. Placement Test scores. (If the test was taken at Bishop Chatard, the scores will already be on file.)
  5. Birth Certificate
  6. Recent psycho-educational testing results, if applying for academic support
  7. Guardianship papers, if applicable

If electronic copies of forms are unavailable, mail documents to Bishop Chatard High School, Attn: Admissions, 5885 Crittenden Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46220

When all documents are received and your application is complete, you should receive an email from us. You can also login to the application portal to see a completed application message.

Applications are accepted after the deadline. A late fee of $100 will be added to the first tuition bill for late submissions.

Step Three: Apply for Financial Aid, if desired

All financial aid is granted on a need basis.

A financial aid application is required to be considered for financial assistance.

Financial Aid Applications for incoming freshmen are due December 11, 2017.

We encourage all families to review the qualifications for the Indiana Choice Scholarships and tax credit scholarships.

Step Four: One-on-One Meetings (Optional)

These one-on-one meetings give parents and/or students the opportunity to meet with a school administrator and/or teacher to ask questions, explore topics in detail and get a closer look at the school. Read more about One-on-One appointments

Step Five: Acceptance Packets are mailed

Acceptance packets, including notification of financial aid awards, will be mailed on February 5, 2018.

Step Six: Enroll At Bishop Chatard

Officially state your intention to attend Bishop Chatard High School by submitting a tuition deposit of $350 ($500 for two or more in a family) due late February, date TBD. Deposits can be mailed to Bishop Chatard High School, Attn: Admissions, 5885 Crittenden Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46220 or delivered to the school.

Those registering after the above deadline will incur a $100 late fee added to your final tuition statement.

After we receive your deposit, we will email you and you will see a notice in your Application Portal account. Your portal account will be opened so you can schedule your course registration appointments.

Step Seven: Course Selection and Registration

Incoming freshmen and their parents will have the opportunity to meet with a BCHS staff member to select coursework for the 2018/2019 school year.

Appointments can be scheduled for March 6, March 7 or March 8, if needed, between 4:00pm and 7:00pm. They are scheduled through your Class of 2022 application portal account after your deposit has been received.
