Indiana Choice Scholarships
The Indiana Choice Scholarship Program (often referred to as ‘vouchers’) is public money awarded to eligible Hoosier students to use toward private school tuition. Bishop Chatard is a certified participant in this program.
Award Amounts
Scholarship amounts vary based on the school district in which the student resides. Below are the 2026-27 Indiana Choice Scholarship amounts for students living in our most populated townships. (Amounts may vary slightly from year to year.)

Eligibility
To qualify for the Indiana Choice Scholarship, the student must:
- Live in Indiana
- Submit an application along with required proof of residency documents
How to Apply
Applications are submitted through Bishop Chatard High School and typically open in the spring/summer prior to the school year in which aid is needed.
Applications and documents for 2026-2027 scholarships are due May 1, 2026
To apply:
- You must be an accepted student of BCHS
- Complete the BCHS application form (link below)
- Upload proof of residency document after you submit the form.
In the application form, you will be directed to a secure Dropbox to upload your documentation.

- Driver’s license, state ID or passport of both parents
- Driver’s license of one parent and a divorcee decree (if applicable)
- Pay stubs or utility bills of both parents (or one parent and divorcee decree)

Financial Aid from Bishop Chatard
Families seeking financial aid directly from Bishop Chatard are required to submit a BCHS financial aid application through FACTS to begin the process. This award is made annually so the application must be submitted each school year.
Begin Application through FACTS
- If you have a FACTS account through another school, you must use the specific BCHS FACTS account link to apply for BCHS financial aid. HOWEVER, you can use the same username and password you have with your other school’s accounts to login to the BCHS account.
- Remember your FACTS login credentials. FACTS accounts are also used throughout a student’s career for tuition payment and subsequent year’s financial aid application.
- You can initially submit your 2024 tax information and follow-up with your 2025 tax information as soon as it is available.
Returning Families with no Incoming Freshman or Transfer Student Families with no Incoming Freshman – March 15, 2026: All returning families that do not have an incoming freshman and all transfer student families without an incoming freshman must complete the Financial Aid Application through FACTS to guarantee inclusion in the pool considered for Bishop Chatard financial aid for the 2026-27 school year.

Incoming Freshmen: You will be notified of your awards in January, if you have met the application deadlines.
Returning Students: You will be notified of your awards in mid-May, if you have met the application deadlines.
Transfer Students: You will be notified of your awards as part of your acceptance packet.
If there are extenuating circumstances that you feel are not taken into consideration by the FACTS application or the federal tax records, applicants are encouraged to submit a letter or email explaining the circumstances. Tax Credit Scholarships
Tax Credit Scholarships (TCS) are funded by Bishop Chatard benefactors through a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) and awarded based on Indiana state guidelines. The amount received can vary each year, depending on funds available. To be eligible, a student must:
- Live in Indiana
- Be currently attending or applying to a K-12 non-public school
- Meet family income guidelines
Income Guidelines
In general, income guidelines are based on the Adjusted Gross Income (line 11) of your Federal 1040 tax return. The 2026/2027 income guidelines are as follows:

Tuition Work Program
The BCHS Tuition Work Program provides an opportunity to work at premier venues (which could include Lucas Oil Stadium, Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Notre Dame Stadium) and earn money that can be applied to the tuition of a BCHS student of your choice.
- Workers for the program can be parents/guardians, family & friends of a BCHS student. BCHS students over 16 can also participate.
- Signup for the program is required to be offered the opportunities as they come up.

Citizenship Grants
Money earned during the summer from this program (formerly called work study) is then applied to the student’s tuition bill.
Watch for Citizenship Grant signup in late spring.
- BCHS financial aid is applied only to tuition. Other fees, including the capital assessment fee, must be paid in full.
- Students are expected to maintain good attendance and disciplinary records and should achieve academic success commensurate with their ability and potential. Parents of students who are placed on academic or disciplinary probation will be informed that they may lose their financial aid award unless the student’s performance improves.
- If there are extenuating circumstances that are not taken into consideration by the FACTS Financial Aid Application or the federal tax records, applicants are encouraged to submit a letter or email explaining the circumstances. All letters should be submitted to the BCHS tuition office.
- Parents have the obligation to inform the school of any changes in their financial situation that could affect the award level.
- All discounts and aid are at the discretion of the school’s internal aid review committee.
In order to prevent the withdrawal of a student(s) from the school for that year, parents can contact the business office for more information about emergency assistance.
If you have not filed for financial aid for the current school year, you will be required to do this before obtaining emergency aid.
This funding resource is intended to provide assistance for the current school year only, and should the circumstances extend beyond that year, parents must apply for financial aid through the regular process
Deadlines and Dates
Financial Aid Application opens Sept. 10.
The FACTS financial aid application for 2026/2027 school year aid will open for all families in September 2025.
Financial Aid Information Night: November 12, 2025
This important meeting is highly recommended for all BCHS families seeking additional information about financial aid. Information about tuition assistance and the application process will be presented, along with an opportunity to ask questions. The program begins at 6:30 pm in the Kyle Guyton Theatre (Room 102). Financial Aid Application Deadline
Apply by this date to be guaranteed to be included in the pool considered for direct BCHS financial aid awards for the 2026-2027 school year.
- December 1, 2025 for all families with an incoming freshman.
- March 15, 2026 for returning families with no incoming freshmen or transfer students’ families with no incoming freshmen.
2026-2027 Registration Deposit Deadline
2026-27 deposit is $350 per student ($500 per family).
- February 9, 2026 for families with an incoming freshman or families NEW to BCHS. Submit your deposit directly to the school by Feb. 9, 2026.
- February 27, 2026 for families with current BCHS students & current BCHS FACTS account. Your tuition deposit will be automatically withdrawn from your BCHS FACTS account on February 27, 2026.
Notification of 2026-2027 Financial Aid Award Package
- January 2026: Families with an incoming freshman will be notified of their financial aid awards for the 2026/2027 year if they have met the application deadlines. Late or incomplete applications or materials may result in a reduced financial award, if an award is granted.
- Late Spring: All other families will be notified of their financial aid awards for the 2026/2027 year if they have met the application deadlines. Late or incomplete applications or materials may result in a reduced financial award, if an award is granted.
- Transfer Students will be notified of their financial aid award with their acceptance packet.
Applications for Indiana Choice Scholarship Program: due May 1
Applications for the Indiana Choice Scholarship Program (vouchers) are due May 1, 2026 for the 2026-27 school year. These applications must be filed if you receive BCHS financial aid.

In late spring, applications for Citizenship Grants (for students who receive financial aid) will be available. Grants are announced in May for summer grants.
