New Parent Orientation: June 25 – Mark your calendar!

Mark your calendar for this important orientation meeting for parents of incoming freshmen and transfer students beginning at 6:30 p.m. at BCHS. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

Looking Ahead

Proficiency Tests: June 4 - 6

Students can take proficiency tests for Algebra, Spanish, Latin and Geometry in early June to help with placement levels in their Freshman classes. Tests will be given at BCHS as follows:

  • Algebra: June 4 (Tues): at Noon
  • Spanish or Latin: June 5 (Wed): at Noon
  • Geometry: June 6 (Thurs): at Noon

Summer School: Health Class Registration is due May 3

BCHS will offer Health Class during the summer 2024. One credit hour is earned for the course. This summer school class is a great way to earn a credit to open space in a schedule for other courses over your student’s high school career. Cost is $200. Classes run Monday to Friday, from June 3 – 21 from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m.

This course is conducted in-person on the Bishop Chatard campus.

BCHS Used Uniform Sale is June 25

The BCHS Used Uniform & Spiritwear Sale will take place on June 25, from 5:00 p.m. – 8 p.m., in the BCHS cafeteria.

Cheerleading Clinic & Tryouts: April 17, 23, 26, 27

Come be a part of this growing program that has big plans for the future! Cheerleading Tryouts are April 27 for incoming freshmen and current students. Be sure to attend at least 2 clinics to hear about tryouts and learn the material.

Freshman Football

Summer weights, conditioning and practice for freshman football start Monday, June 3. Any student wishing to play must have a physical on file with Final Forms, found on the BCHS athletics website, before any participation. If you have questions contact Coach Kevin Jennings, kjennings@bishopchatard.org”

The 2024 Freshmen Football Callout Meeting was held on April 11 and fall football gear orders were due April 16. Questions about an order? Contact Coach Odom at todom@bishopchatard.org

Cross Country

Bishop Chatard Cross Country summer conditioning begins Tuesday, June 4 and will be held every Monday – Friday from 6:45 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. (summer school students will be released at 7:50 a.m.). BCXC camp will be held July 22nd-24th and the first official practice is August 5!

Citizenship Grants: Interest form is due May 15

Money earned during the summer from this program (formerly called work study) is then applied to the student’s tuition bill. These spots are prioritized for those having a financial need. If you are interested, submit our interest form below by May 15, 2024.

Girls Volleyball Freshman Parent Meeting: April 30

There will be a virtual meeting on Tuesday, April 30 at 7:00 p.m. for the parents of incoming freshmen who are interested in trying out for the program. We will discuss dates, times, expectations, and answer any questions you may have regarding the summer schedule.

Join us for a Freshman Parent Coffee: August 8

After dropping off your freshman at Orientation on August 8, join members of the Bishop Chatard Trinity (parent) Club for a cup of coffee, breakfast pastry, and an opportunity to meet other parents of the Class of 2027.
After dropping your student at Door #10, drive around and park in the southeast area of the parking lot. We’ll meet in the Stadium Concession Stand Plaza. We look forward to celebrating the beginning of your child’s high school career at BCHS!

Music Parents Meeting: August 3

If you have a child in the BCHS Music program, whether in a one semester class or an ensemble (band, choirs, orchestra), please plan on attending this informational meeting on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, from 7-8 p.m. in the band room (115). The Music Boosters will meet after this parent meeting.

Official school uniforms can be purchased through Schoolbelles (School code: S1664), online or through their store at 6315 N. Keystone Ave.

BCHS Uniform Sweatshirts are only available through the BCHS Spirit Shop

The approved uniform sweatshirts, 1/4 zip or crewneck, can only be purchased through the BCHS Spirit Shop, located by the concession stand downstairs near the cafeteria, or through the online Spirit Shop.

Summer Sports Moratorium

During these 2 weeks in the summer, all athletic activity halts. IHSAA schedules one and BCHS adds another.

  • BCHS Moratorium: July 27 – August 4, 2024

Sports Physicals for 2024/2025

Physicals performed after April 1, 2024 will be accepted for the entire 2024/2025 school year for your athlete.
